First, write 1/4 as a decimal. Then convert the decimal to a percentage.
1/4 = 0.25 = 25%
Do the same thing for 1/2.
1/2 = 0.5 = 50%
Now compare the percentages.
25% ? 50%
25 is less than 50, s0 25% < 50%

Yesterday, Nicholas bought 1/2 of the items on his shopping list. Kendrick purchased 8/9 of the items on his shopping list.
Who bought a greater fraction of the items on his shopping list?
