A plural means more than one.
Singular β Plural

Common Ways to Form Plurals |
a) Just add -s
Most nouns β add -s
Examples:
- dog β dogs πΆπΆ
- pen β pens βοΈβοΈ
- apple β apples ππ
b) Add -es for words ending in s, x, z, ch, sh
Words ending in s, x, z, ch, sh β add -es
Examples:
- box β boxes π¦π¦
- bus β buses ππ
- brush β brushes ποΈποΈ
- church β churches βͺβͺ
c) Change y β ies
Words ending in consonant + y β change y β ies
Examples:
- baby β babies πΆπΆ
- city β cities ποΈποΈ
Rule: If vowel + y, just add -s
- boy β boys π¦π¦
d) Change f / fe β ves
Words ending in f or fe β change f/fe β ves
Examples:
- leaf β leaves ππ
- knife β knives πͺπͺ
Exception: roof β roofs π π
e) Irregular plurals
Some nouns do not follow rules β completely different forms

f) Plurals of uncountable nouns
Some nouns cannot be counted, so they donβt have plurals
Examples:
