🔹 What is the Progressive Tense? |
The progressive tense (also called continuous tense) shows an action that is happening right now, was happening, or will be happening.
- 👉 It always uses a form of “to be” (am, is, are, was, were, will be) + verb + -ing.
📘 Types of Progressive Tenses |
1. Present Progressive 🕒
Form: am / is / are + verb + -ing
Use: Shows action happening right now.
Example:
- I am reading a book. 📖
- She is playing football. ⚽
2. Past Progressive ⏳
Form: was / were + verb + -ing
Use: Shows action that was happening in the past.
Example:

3. Future Progressive 🔮
Form: will be + verb + -ing
Use: Shows action that will be happening in the future.
